Sooo I've been... posting about a lil, I dunno, and I decided to make an introduction post thingy here? Nice. I'm Charlie! I'm 17 and Mentally Sick as HELLâ„¢ I'm also Autistic and have ADHD and chronic illnesses, because misery loves company. I'm from the UK so on the off chance that there's someone else out there that's from the UK we can discuss NHS and other Great Things haha camhs anyone?
Anyway uhh... I'm in my last year of high school, after dropping out the year before and then going back. I'm going to college next year so that I can catch up on some stuff I missed, then hopefully heading to university to study mental health nursing or social work! My main interests are medicine, biology and clinical psychology - if you ever wanna chat about these things hmu

Misery does love company. Hope college goes well. Am also doing psychology so am happy to talk about that if you want!
Also, it's a bit worrying when my first response to this is, 'lucky you, you got CAMHS?' (Apparently, I didn't qualify -_-)

Hi Charlie! Welcome to the new forum!
Misery certainly does love company... You can't just have one diagnosis. Gotta have a handful of them. *Oprah voice* You get a co-morbid diagnosis! You get a co-morbid diagnosis! EVERYONE GETS A CO-MORBID DIAGNOSIS!
I hope things keep looking up for you!

(Apparently, I didn't qualify -_-) Haha, I got CAMHS after basically phoning them up and pouring my heart out about how hard Everything Was because they rejected me the first time. Well, okay, my mum done that but... it's the same thing basically. But aye, I might make a CAMHS thread once the board gets a little bigger. Or a general NHS experiences thread, because from what I've read the approach to mental health is entirely different between the US and UK. [Also I'm Scottish: a sidenote I completely forgot to include! It'll become obvious though, I can bet ]

Yeah, my GP was very laissez-faire about my whole mental health crisis. They literally make you, a mentally ill teenager, do all the work. Urgh. I've heard CAMHS can be pretty hit and miss. Having an NHS board would be nice. From what I can tell (making generalisations here) the NHS doesn't prescribe medication specifically for PD's, but in the US they will? What I heard from one of my doc's anyway. But there are other pretty big differences as well.

I'm from the UK! Hello, fellow UK friend! I'm from Wales- Cardiff specifically though I am not Welsh. I just moved here.
I don't believe the NHS do prescribe meds for PD's specifically. I'm on fluxotine (Prozac in US) and it works fairly well for me.
Anyway, welcome! :3
