Hi everyone, my name is Ashleigh. I'm 24, from Australia, and I work in software development (also I'm an undergraduate psych student). I was diagnosed with BPD a year and a half ago. It was difficult because I didn't really understand it, but it definitely helped me understand a lot of my behavioural patterns of the last decade. My problem is I like to 'save face' (for lack of a better phrase), and I make out as though my life is great and I am happy, with no issues. I do this in front of friends, family, and my therapist. It is hard because this leaves everyone around me (therapist included) thinking I'm okay. So I guess I need to work on my honesty. I've also set myself a resolution (ergh) for 2016 to be more mindful of my feelings, thoughts, actions, and surroundings. So far its going okay, no breakdowns - yay! So besides the obvious, I have a affinity for Batman. I am an avid collector and lover! I need more hobbies though. I don't know if there's much else to say that would be of any interest, other than I love puns, stupid movies, and Doritos. Oh and I joined because I'd like to meet like-minded people who understand the crazy and tumultuous feelings I have.

Hi, Ashleigh! Welcome to the forum!
I have to admit I'm curious by your definition of a "stupid movie." :P See, I have a list of what I call "awesome movies," but my boyfriend doesn't agree. Some of these movies include: Troll 2 and Rubber and cheesy horror movies. It's gotten to the point where he doesn't listen to my recommendations anymore lol

Thanks Mea and Ananke!
Mostly movies that don't rate well by critics (like Anchorman, for example) but I can never stop laughing at.
I'm too much of a sook for horror movies!

Yo, Ashleigh. I love puns too. To the detriment of my friends who groan whenever I say one. Welcome and I am glad to hear your resolution is going well so far!
