Just a reminder that we have a board for questions and answers. We continue to get dozens of questions per day on the tumblr, and some people are asking questions in the Discussions board. The point of the Questions and Answers board is to serve as an alternative askbox like we have on Tumblr, so that members can give feedback as well. Discussions is meant for discussions, not asking for advice, which has been it's primary use so far.

The questions and answers board just honestly feels pretty intimidating with all it's rules and the FAQ implying "don't bother to ask something if your question is answered in here". I dunno, just my two cents.

Honestly, one of the main reasons I made the forum was so people could ask questions which were already in the FAQ (since that's 70% of what gets sent in to the Tumblr), and maybe other members would have more spoons and energy to link things than the mods do. Because we spend all of our energy answering new questions, so I'd hoped that fellow members with the time and energy could link people to things rather than depending on the mods all the time. Also, sometimes members have answers we don't, or better answers. The Questions and Answers rules aren't extravagant though? - Be sure to check our Resources and References board before asking a question! There is a lot of information there, and you'll get your answer more quickly looking through existing information than you will waiting on an answer.
- There is no such thing as a "stupid question," so don't treat any questions like they are invalid!
- Do not bump questions to the top of the board until at least one week has passed.
- Please keep in mind that if a question gets ignored, it may be because no one has a good answer, or because someone wants to do more research first. No one is an oracle, and no one has all the answers.
- Try to limit yourself to two questions per week. We don't want this to turn into spam central.
First rule is just to remind people that searching is an option. If you can't find something, that's okay! It can be hard to find things, and maybe another member can find something you can't. That's also a valid question. Ultimately, searching will probably take less time than waiting on an answer, but asking is also okay. And then the last rule really exists just in case this forum gets as busy as the tumblr, with its 14,000 followers... heh.
