If you google this, sites will tell you yes. They’ll list four types of borderline: the discouraged borderline, the impulsive borderline, the petulant borderline, and the self-destructive borderline. (Such is found on Psychology Today, which also recommends the book Stop Walking on Eggshells, which is on our blacklist and we recommend you stay at least 50 feet away from it at all times!)
The fact is, someone with BPD cannot so easily be placed in one of four categories. If you read those types, you may have found that all of them sound like you, or at least two of them did.
BPD exists on a spectrum, just like other disorders, and cannot be put into categories or “types.” We don’t fit in boxes. No person with BPD is the same. Our symptoms exhibit in different ways, and I have symptoms you don’t and vice versa.
